During the pandemic, a group of industrious, Latino filmmakers and I got together to shoot a film (while adhering to COVID protocols, of course). That film, ZERO SUM GAME, which I wrote and directed, is in a "locked cut," meaning, all shooting and editing is done. Woohoo!!!

OUR HAPPY DILEMMA: ZSG has been accepted into the prestigious CULVER CITY FILM FESTIVAL in Los Angeles. But now we have to finish our film in record time!
OUR TIMELINE: The festival starts November 30th, so we need to start YESTERDAY on VFX, sound mixing, art, music, and coloring. Our amazing supporters have already donated thousands of dollars in their time and talents for editing, some VFX, art concepts, etc. We have additional vendors ready to start finishing the film, but they need money to begin, and eventually complete, their work. Each passing day costs us more time. All in all, we need $73,000.

WHY SHOULD YOU CARE ABOUT ZERO SUM GAME?: Being a Latino myself, I have always wanted to create a film with an all Latino cast that wasn't an "issue" film, as important as those films are. We are a rich, complex, and diverse community that occupies all strata of the socioeconomic landscape, and our movie reflects that fact. This film also gives a large cast of Latino actors the opportunity to have their faces on screen as the focus of the story. ZSG also grapples with the conundrums of our era: Political and religious freedoms, and the potentialities of Artificial Intelligence. In our story, a small society has walled itself off from the rest of the world and made a god out of an AI they call "Zeus". Marty, our anti-hero, is a firm believer in Zeus and its deadly commands, that is, until Marty is chosen to participate in Zeus' bloody death match. This sets Marty on a journey that will turn his beliefs upside down.
